A Note from Mary Christa
As the pandemic stretches on, the mental health impacts on our young people grow. A recent report by the CDC shows that nearly 3 out of every 4 youth ages 18-24 report struggling with poor mental health and 1 in 4 report seriously considering suicide in the last 30 days. These indicators are deeply concerning.
At Communities That Care, we don’t just talk, we act:
We are delighted to announce the launch of a new program, Vibe Outside!
Vibe Outside is generously sponsored by White Pine Touring and led by Betsy Bothe, long time Parkite and outdoor guide for White Pine Touring. The goal of Vibe Outside is to share the joy for life through inspirational outdoor experiences with youth. We focus on themes of connection and belonging by exposing kids to the awe of nature, meaningful outdoor activity and thoughtful discussions. Local experts facilitate healthy and inspirational outdoor experiences, focusing on mental wellness by engaging them in life-affirming activities. Check out the upcoming Vibe Outside events on our website!
Vibe Outside events are free for attendees. We would LOVE to offer more of these programs for our community’s youth. Please consider a generous donation in support of this program here.
