Nature Bathing at Empire Pass 9K trail
August 24, 2021 @ 6:00 pm

The studies keep showing: Nature is good for you. We know that time spent outdoors reduces stress, increases wellbeing, regulates blood pressure, and provides exercise which benefits mind, body and spirit. As many of us spend time indoors tethered to our devices, we begin to lose touch with our connection to the natural world. Open spaces ground us, balance us, connect us and cure us– and as the current state of the world causes more stress and anxiety in our everyday lives, we need this more than ever.
The Summit Land Conservancy is thrilled to partner with Communities That Care to bring you the art and healing powers of Nature Bathing. Shinrin-yoku, which translates to “forest bathing” or “absorbing the forest atmosphere” encourages people to simply spend time in nature immersed in the sights, smells, textures, and tastes, of the natural scenery. It teaches the pleasures of presence in the wild and helps create a more defined sense of purpose and connection to this beautiful place we call home.
Join us on our favorite open spaces and tune in to nature…Bring a blanket to sit on and an open mind. We think you’ll really thank us!
