Nature Bathing with Summit Land Conservancy and Communities That Care
The studies keep showing: Nature is good for you. We know that time spent outdoors reduces stress, increases wellbeing, regulates blood pressure, and provides exercise which benefits mind, body and spirit. As many of us spend time indoors tethered to our devices, we begin to lose touch with our connection to the natural world. Open spaces ground us, balance us, connect us and cure us– and as the current state of the world causes more stress and anxiety in our everyday lives, we need this more than ever.
The Summit Land Conservancy is thrilled to partner with Communities That Care to offer a new program that focuses on the art and healing powers of Nature Bathing. Shinrin-yoku, which translates to “forest bathing” or “absorbing the forest atmosphere” encourages people to simply spend time in nature immersed in the sights, smells, textures, and tastes, of the natural scenery. It teaches the pleasures of presence in the wild and helps create a more defined sense of purpose and connection to this beautiful place we call home. Start your week off right (every other Monday) with a two-hour wellness walk in nature…We think you’ll really thank us!
