Local Hike: Botany and Bird Watching (PC Hill and wet lands)

Take a short hike up to the top of PC Hill and enjoy a snack on top. Observe the birds in wetlands and discover its mind blowing treasures in our back yard!!!

TIME: 3:00 PM- 5:30 PM

• Group size: Max of 10 persons
• For youth only, ages 11-17
• Register each child separately
• LOCATION: Parent drop off and pick up at PC Hill trailhead. (Drive in behind the Park City District Office).

THEME: Observation: Utah’s natural beauty and the balance of our natural world

Come dressed for a hike, bring a backpack with plenty of water, wear sunscreen, bug spray and a hat. Bring your own snack. Wear good hiking shoes or boots (no vans)! Make sure to dress for hiking, wear sunscreen and a hat.

LOCAL HERO: Mike Lloyd, science teacher from East High School and botany buff, will lead us in an incredible journey of the discovery of nature!!!

MENTOR: Betsy Bothe, Outdoor Guide of White Pine Touring

Vibe Outside fosters connection and belonging by exposing kids to the awe of nature, meaningful outdoor activity and thoughtful discussions.

Local expert, Betsy Bothe and guest mentors facilitate healthy and inspirational outdoor experiences, focusing on mental wellness by engaging them in life-affirming activities.

About Betsy Bothe:

Betsy has a Master Degree in Art from Utah State University. She worked in Art Education and school programming for 13 years at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art, the Utah Arts Council and Kimball Art Center. For the last 15 years she has worked in the travel industry as an avid outdoor guide for White Pine Touring. She has also worked in the travel industry planning tours and guiding tourists on cultural tours in America, Europe and Asia.

“As an outdoor guide, I hope to share my enthusiasm for sports, nature, travel and cultures with others. I have been teaching and guiding people for over 30 years; downhill skiing, nordic skiing, ski touring, running, hiking, mountain biking, yoga and leading cultural tours throughout the world.”
